Meat It was NEVER 'Leprosy,' But WOULD Be an Improvement!

Sometimes there are things in Scripture that are SO foreign to our experience that we not only tend to 'skip over' the entire topic, but think of it as yet another 'proof' that such 'law' really has been 'done away with.'

Even if the Messiah Himself says so clearly otherwise.

And the detailed discussion of "leprosy" may top that list. But the trouble is, the Hebrew word 'tzaraat' for the malady being described is without question NOT Hansen's Disease, aka "leprosy." And every reliable source, up to and including 'modern medicine' acknowledges that whatever tzaraat might have been, there hasn't been a case on earth for at least a thousand years.

Furthermore, the Scripture certainly suggests* that the nega, or malady, is associated with certain specific actions, primarily speech, that are sometimes referred to as the "evil tongue," or lashon hora. And whatever THAT is, it arguably hasn't disappeared from the planet.

Still, when we understand what seems to have been the purpose, it's pretty easy to accept that the world might be better off WITH it.

And maybe THAT's why this study should be of such actual interest. I can't help but suggest there must be a lesson here.

While it's easy to picture skin falling off the bald head of AmeriKa's Border Invasion Bond Villain, Alejandro Mayorkas, in sheets, it won't happen. And while likewise, it's easy to picture a senile masked BidenFuhrer 'covering his upper lip' (Lev. 13:45) - but not actually admitting outright that he is "Unclean, unclean!"
