I dunno! I see too many Cum Hoc fallacies in that article. They mention men who wish to become Muslim and have many wives, and paint people who favor patriarchy, with the Islamic brush. Well, it's much easier to argue biblically than say polygyny. That's why we have this Transformed wife which is strong on patriarchy, yet opposes polygyny.
I don’t disagree with any of what you wrote. I just think it’s interesting that the concept of patriarchy, masculinity and polygyny are ceded to the mentality of Muslims only. It’s really an indictment of Christianity in the West that writers automatically go there. The fact that Islam is seen as the only destination for law, order, and domestic stability should be the takeaway. Christianity should at least be a rival in that respect. It’s not even in the game!
