Hello everyone,

We are Zino and Maria, a married couple with two young children (ages 1 and 3), currently living in Austria. Zino is originally from Germany and also spent some time living in California, while I am Austrian.

During our daily family devotions, we were reading through the life of David and felt led to explore the topic of polygyny more deeply. As we studied and prayed, we came to the understanding that, despite cultural shifts over time, God never actually forbade it. Since then, the idea of living this way has gradually taken root in our hearts, and we've now come to a point where we're open to walking this path practically—if God wills to open that door for us.

So far, we don’t personally know any polygynous families in the German-speaking world, and we would love to connect with others who are walking a similar journey or have experience with it. This forum is a real blessing, and we're thankful to have found it!

Looking forward to getting to know some of you.

Warm greetings in Christ,
Zino & Maria

Greetings Zino and Maria. Welcome to Biblical Families and thank you for the introduction. There are people from all over the world active on the site, so i hope you will make the contacts you are looking for. Shalom.

Shalom and welcome.

Thank you for posting. I’m not certain that we have any Austrians or Germans, but we’re a cosmopolitan group.

If you get a chance to do some research, there have been some polygynous movements in the German speaking world amongst some of the non-aligned church groups. It’s fascinating.

Welcome!

Welcome! It is great to have you here. I know of one family you might be able to connect with, they are near you. Since new members don't have DM privileges for awhile, I will message will let them know you have joined the Forum. I am sure she, and her husband, would love to reach out to you. Hopefully, you can meet up with them at some point.

We do have a Tuesday night ladies chat, but the time difference is not great for you unless you are a Night Owl. :D Hopefully, you will find some good things here, and some families you can connect with online at least.

Yes, I will tag onto that, that we also have men's chat on the same channel on Wednesday nights at 7 PM Central 8 PM Eastern, but you and @MemeFan can set a time that works for you, since he is on Croatia time which is approx 3 AM over there.

Welcome, Zino & Maria!

It is a joy to see faithful believers like yourselves humbly seeking the ancient paths and turning not to the traditions of men, but to the enduring Word of God. Your testimony is a powerful witness of what happens when families take the Scriptures seriously, reading, praying, and obeying, even when it runs contrary to culture.

Many today read the life of David and only see his fall with Bathsheba, forgetting that before that moment, he walked righteously with the Lord while having multiple wives. The same God who declared, “I gave thee thy master’s wives into thy bosom” (2 Samuel 12:8) never called David’s polygyny a sin, only his adultery and murder.

Your openness to follow wherever the Lord leads, even into a path that few in the modern world understand, is honorable. The journey of biblical restoration is not always popular, but it is always blessed when pursued in truth, love, and submission to God's law.

May your home continue to grow in order, strength, and covenantal clarity as you raise your arrows (Psalm 127:4) for the glory of Christ's Kingdom.

We’re glad you’re here. You are not alone.

Stand firm and walk boldly.

The same God who declared, “I gave thee thy master’s wives into thy bosom” (2 Samuel 12:8) never called David’s polygyny a sin, only his adultery and murder.
Not only that, but while married to both Abigail and Ahinoam, David wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, that he had clean hands, was righteous, and had kept God's decrees, and that God had kept him from sinning (Psalms 18:20-24).

Not only that, but while married to both Abigail and Ahinoam, David wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, that he had clean hands, was righteous, and had kept God's decrees, and that God had kept him from sinning (Psalms 18:20-24).
These are the sorts of truths the M-O proponents wilfully avoid. It's a simple and straightforward proof that polygyny is righteous "marriage" just as monogamy is righteous "marriage". Numbers is not an issue.
